Am I a candidate for GLP-1 injections?
GLP-1 injections are generally suitable for adults with a BMI of 27 or above, particularly those with weight-related health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension or high cholesterol. They are not suitable during pregnancy or for patients with a history of certain thyroid conditions. Dr. Manaal will assess your suitability at a medical consultation.
Is the Allurion balloon painful to swallow?
The Allurion capsule is similar in size to a large supplement capsule and is swallowed with water. No endoscopy, anaesthesia or hospital stay is required. Most patients experience mild bloating or nausea for 3–5 days as the stomach adjusts. After this initial period, most patients report feeling comfortable with the balloon in place.
How much weight can I expect to lose?
Results vary significantly depending on the treatment, starting weight, adherence and lifestyle. GLP-1 programmes typically produce 10–20% body weight reduction over 6–12 months. What does the Endomina procedure involve?
Endomina is performed endoscopically — a camera and suturing device are passed through the mouth into the stomach under sedation. The procedure takes approximately 60–90 minutes and requires no incisions. You can typically return home the same day. Results are long-lasting, with most patients maintaining restriction for 2–3 years or more.
Are the lab checks included in the programme?
